Everyday is a school day!
It certainly is!

Today, for example, I have learned my body's intolerance of penicillin (tooth infection) is so terrible I will no longer be going to Silverstone this afternoon to do an interview with Jenson Button and that lucky Nik is now going in my place!

Amazing how similar a penicillin tablet looks to a laxative glad I could pick your prescription up for you!!

Bad luck Julian! Nik's got a good deal though.

By comparison I've got a friend's Fiat Punto to fix this afternoon. Toothache is probably preferable rofl

Thanks mate.

I don't even have toothache, it is just the side effect of the penicillin (or laxitive, if Nik to be believed!) that meant I couldn't get there.

My loss, Nik's gain!

Good luck with the Punto and thanks for your offer with Intelligent Money Racing! https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...smile

No worries, I love a good project and don't mind traveling!

The Punto is still playing up but I think I've got the answer in the form of a new MAP sensor on order. Bloody thing cuts out randomly once warmed up and then struggles to start mad

I can never recall is Royal caribbean not the one that was left out and Norwegian cruise line holdings took its place? I keep an eye on them through googles terrible finance section and they all seem to mirror each other +/- a percentage.

Shoulda bought Saga... the cruise brochure that just arrived says on the front 'BESTSELLING 2022/23 NO-FLY ALL-INCLUSVE LAUNCH PROMOTION' and 'Fares are increasing - please do not delay'...

The prices are pretty hefty already!

Evening all.

I am considering a few options at the moment, one of them is the purchase of a modest apartment at the seaside in partnership with a family member. We are possibly lucky enough to be able to considering purchasing property outright and we may want to consider renting it out to others to recoup some of the costs.

I have looked into the tax benefits of a furnished holiday let but seen as we want to be fairly selective who we rent the apartment to, we might not want to make it available for the required number of weeks. Basically, we appreciate that we wouldn't enjoy the tax advantages of a FHL but we only really want to recover a modest amount of the costs incurred through lets to friends and family without breaking any rules in relation to tax.

Is this something that is possible please? Daft idea?

thanks

I would have a good chat with Nik about this, when he comes back to some actual work! hehe

Seriously (this was his afternoon today though) he really knows this inside out (and better than I do).
