It will be higher at the point of sale as it has grown more relative to the other holdings. It could be as high as 9-10

Any thoughts on PHE ? Taking a beating , but perhaps this is a message to me put some more in and at least cover amount lost so far with same amount.
My only worry on that is.... if the fund is rebalanced night it potentially negate what I have attempted

It sure doesn't matter now if not in ISA as the gov haven't figured out ( YET ) how to spin a way to tax on losses yet

Thoughts on SMT? Down another 5% today so a is this a buying opportunity or further to fall?
It's a long term hold for me but painful to see my SIPP gains fall below 100%.
What is SMT?

Have I missed something?

Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust I assume.

Bit OT for this thread but I've got some cash in it and its the first time my holding has gone into the red.

Yes, you can do this, though the tax treatment is split 50/50 so you can't fully take advantage of a lower rate tax band.

We currently don't offer this as our systems have always been set up for individual accounts only, but Nik is working with Alex on the development of this.

Cheers

The dollar has now started to rise against the pound, which will help PHE.

The stocks are, IMHO, undervalued right now.

As I always say, these are investments (and so will always have shorter term blips) and diversify. Most people could benefit from a bit of "boring" to hedge against the fun part!

Cheers

We are happy to answer any question, it doesn't need to be IM related.

Over 60% of its holdings are in the US and China, so quite a lot of volatility going on there. It is also mainly a tech fund, so has taken a hit after a big rise in this sector settled down.

So what you are seeing is just normal short term movements in a volatile world and sector. If you are in for the longer term just let it ride these things out and don't look at the price every day (particulary right now!).

Cheers

Julian
