This is a boring one so apologies but my brain is hurting for some reason over this.

My wife currently has a Volvo V90 on a 24 month lease with 12 months left.
It's £318.40 a month, averaging around 21mpg and doing about £200/month in fuel.
To get out of it, it's 50% of the remaining payments (£1910). No damage or extra miles to worry about..
It is due a service but not sure if I need to account for that and if so at what cost.

Im really not bothered by this car and neither is she.

I have a 2016 Golf which I will use as my rubbish weather daily and she would have my Seat Leon instead of the volvo.
The Leon will do circa 30mpg and is £235/month.
The Golf is £150/month and will be way better on fuel than either of the other 2 with my commute.

I suppose what I'm getting at is if we got rid of the volvo and just had the Leon and golf, is it actually worth doing.
I'm just a bit sick of paying over £500/month for her car when all it's used for is the school run and shopping.

Did any of that make sense?

Why do you have a golf AND a Leon?

If you already have a car & you're not fussed about the Volvo then I'd say getting rid is the best option.

You bought a V90 for a school run and shopping? A bit of overkill ?

Thought about sticking the Volvo on one of those lease take over type sites? You never know, someone might take it off your hands.

If I've read that right, you have an expensive car that you don't like, want or need.

Therefore, get rid of it. The rest is inconsequential really.

I was under the impression that it had to be taken over by a Ltd Co?

It was one of those 'cheap' lease deals and needed a car but didn't for one minute think we'd be averaging 21mpg over 6,000 miles.
It's only why I have this chance before I sell the Golf to decide what to do.

Bt the time I've paid the cancellation cost, I don't think it'll be a massive difference over the year but just wanted to make sure my math was right.

You are correct, I think I'm just thinking purely that I'm going to have to pay £2k just to get rid of it and not of the overall cost.

Aye. I haven't done the maths but I would expect that in nearly all scinareos, keeping it longer will be more expensive than selling it sooner - especially as you already have other cars that can take up the reigns imediately which are being paid for regardless.

Good luck with your decision. smile
