ker who would have one of these style over substance cards would care.I have an Amazon card from Chase. 5% cash back on Amazon purchases and 2% on most of my other purchases. The gimmick of it being metal wore off faster than activating it. Some credit card machines don’t accept it but on the whole it makes no difference to me.
I think the difference between the Amazon metal card and the Apple one is that the Amazon is a metal rectangle laminated on both sides with plastic with your details. In the middle is a cut out for the chip. Pain in the ass trying to destroy it when I replaced the old one that had got shuffle board salt stuck under the plastic.
When the $400/yr Chase sapphire reserve came out they ran out of the metal blanks because demand was so high purely for a metal card. That card can pay you back though as there’s rebates that will cover most of the $400 fee. I would have got one if I didn’t have a fundamental issue with the $400 fee even if I can rebate most of it.

I can actually see someone getting that out their pocket and trying to get as many people as possible to see them get their Apple card out before paying with it.
