I can confirm shorting is more nerve-wracking than going long BAB smile
did you still have the short going? (dont quite understand how they work just know babcock is down another 500000% )
they are pretty simple, you just sell a stock you don't hold, it creates a short position, the platform will charge a small fee (to "lend" you the stock you didn't have to sell - only 1.2% per annum), you close the short by buying the same quantity of the stock

I was too nervous holding it overnight, I had the right game but didn't play it well

shorted 8,000 shares at 295, not the 300 it got to
closed short at 294, not the 287 it closed at

overall I made £50 after fees, played properly I could have made a lot more, but it was an experiment for me really, it is nerve wracking and you watch the screens more

I'm in a couple of gambles, and for examples lke EQT there was a big share sale yesterday which diluted the sp. As a shareholder, why did i not get told about this, or is there a process to 'register' - I would have bought a load more shares in the offer had I known about it.

Similar for recent changes with PHE, I am not getting any news from them. I just assumed when you buy shares there was a register, but I now I guess I need to set myself up somehow?
Get over to HL.co.uk click on the shares tab, type in the shares you want to watch. Click on the company and aswell as well as share prices, dividend info, charts etc on the right side there is a tab for Company News and Company Announcements. Knock yourself out.

Bought £2k of BOO at 219p, said I would sell at 300p but got greedy this morning and didn't sell! Back to 270ish, can't decide whether to hold or sell!

Nothing wrong in taking profits especially at the moment. If I was in your position with BOO I would be cashing in.

If you expand beyond the top ten there are quite a few of the favourites from this thread!
BABcock can't even make the effort to make it into the top 10.
They are even a loser at losing... biggrin

So you are up about 15%?
Not fancy taking the cash and having some fun over the weekend instead of wondering what other news will come out?

Or is FOMO taking over and you want it over a psychological 300 level?

Perhaps just put a sell order in at a level you are comfortable with and not monitor it on a constant basis?

Yeah hate FOMO. I should have sold my VLS when I was 60% up. Now just 5%.

Exactly this. Think I’m going to sweat it out. Need to stop looking at it on a short term basis it’s too stressful when it’s down, although love it when it’s up!

6mths down the line I remain confident Boohoo will be above 300

500 Miles what is the reason for IDP dropping 10% but my buy order for 10 shares hasnt even gone through? Surely the drop in price means there are some sellers?

thought I could buy them a tiny ammount at a time seeing as big ammounts wern't going through.
There might be someone who is hoovering up all the shares as they come onto the market... scratchchin
