Bit more of a general question this one: Given what is happening the moment, and what may happen with the economy over the next 12 months or so with Covid/Brexit etc.

Where would you have your money to ensure both security and some returns?

My thoughts are that having sums in the bank is not prudent, because if the government decides to engage in quantitative easing there is a risk of cash being devalued slightly.

So what to do with it?
Buy some residential property for letting?
Buy commercial/industrial property for letting?
Buy shops or office space?
Stock Market?
Precious metals?
Anything else?

Having sold out of 'High street' properties 2 or 3 years ago, I'm kind of pleased that I am no longer in that sector of investment.

Or would you simply keep your money in the Banks for the moment and see what happens? Maybe some bargains to be had shortly?
You’re in the wrong place for sensible financial advice - I would ask in the main forum as a new thread.

If you want some sensible gamble advice... Put it all on Boo...

I just want to know which one will hit the magic '3' first. Boohoo at £3 or SKIN at 3p.

Both tomorrow would be nice FYI.
That would be very nice - I think Boo will get there, depends what’s in the GB’s blog. I have a funny feeling SKIN might retrace back - Boo hopefully gets there by Monday.

I’ve got 3 times as much Boo as SKIN - Boo is 3rd largest holding now, SKIN has ran up the charts to position 8..

I'm not much of a gambler, although I did buy into a crypto currency called Cardano a week or so ago because someone tipped me off that it would be really good idea.

As for my other question, I'll start a new thread!
Good luck on Cardano.

Meeten does a good line in magic beans if you want to invest in something which is less risky than crypto smile

Surprised the SP hasn’t retraced on that, nothing too exciting in it that wasn’t known before - other than he think he’s done a good job smile

Come on then...whats happening with AA and CINE??
Cine is fked until people are allowed into cinemas ww en masse.
Aa. Is hampered by big business who want to have it cheap and stuff the shareholders, I'm hoping for 40p bid in a months time,I don't think it'll be much higher than that, the update on the 11th may put a rocket up its arse, who knows?

Still holding
I don’t understand the logic that the sp is being held back by big business wanting it cheap - I know the boards are full of these statements but I don’t understand them.

For a company the size of the AA and with the liquidity that their shares offer, in my naive view it should operate as a true market - supply and demand.

If the market makers pushed the price down people would buy all the shares they held, the mm’s might then sell shares they don’t own and would then have to bid up the price to fulfil orders thus losing money - I can’t see them doing that very often..

For a share with less liquidity, you sometimes have to call the house broker and ask them to raise the bid shown and hope it generates some interest on the sell side - in that scenario it’s possible to ‘manipulate’ the shareprice but don’t see how you could push the shareprice down. Ignoring spoofing and shorting etc,

The above makes sense in my head, although had a migraine all day so probably doesn’t make sense anywhere else smile

As to why the sp hasn’t gone up more.... I’m just seeing that as the market not believing an acquisition will be made at a much higher price point..

I’m holding... one of my bigger gambles.. LSE told me it was going to £1.50 - straight after the tree shake, I just need to stay in over the weekend and make sure no one steals my shares on the cheap. smile

Right... we’ve reached the end of volume one..

Volume one helped us hone our strategies, the big money is made over in volume 2.
