AA up over 7% now... looks like the market has finally caught up with our thinking...

if it could just catch up with the thinking on - IDP, RBG, Babcock (although think we’ve all sold out?), etc..
BAB - I bought on the way down having booked profit.

and ...SSPG, RPS, INVP, NRR.... and of course CINE - oh, and CPI.

A profit on Bab? I’m not sure that’s allowed... maybe we should adopt the “Don’t ask Don’t Tell” policy...

I had a profit... and made the mistake of picking up a bargain... the profit is long-gone.

Thanks to the late charge from AA., it seems I might end the day with an overall gain. Nice for a Friday.

Sold AA at 33.1, probably going to regret it, now to find something to play with in the US

Good to see CINE recover most of its losses..

AA played a stormer in the end - BOO, Mulberry and EQT were also heroes...

Our favourite newsagents is in danger of being dropped in the popularity ranks to below RS Mccols.

Off topic but a bit of Friday humour... Those north of the border will no doubt have been watching these on a daily basis..

Have a good weekend all - next week our shares are going to the moon smile apart from Babcock..

I've got a little bit of money in Berkeley, currently showing just under 5% up on them. More of a longer term hold than a gamble though. If I read the financial statement right, they've got £1.6 billion in cash in the bank.

Who knows where the property market will go in the next 12 months but I thought they looking strong to ride things out...
Yea good shout, under current liabilities theres .2 mill of debt and and 1.7 of other liabilities. Be interested to see what that was if I were you.

In true keeping with the gamble topic it's only fair I am to pick a housebuilder I pick the one that has taken a beating and over leveraged etc that looks to be Crest Nicholson.

Boom happy with aa and boohoo, good revenue and growing sales not affected by covid too.
Due to run more I think on that basis of continued sales. Target AA short term 40p after 16.8p buy and topsloce of profit at 28p a few months back. Boohoo target 360p before results.
Then back out for winter sell off imo.

I’ve got Barrett’s which has served me well - up 22% currently and looks like it has further to go. I’ve not looked at others recently.

Have you thought about buying a brick manufacturer - IBStock looks like good value and sell off could be overdone.
Ive been on the IBSTOCK train and it is similar to CINE - went up, I added some more, and it has now returned to original price, with me holding a lot more shares at a higher ave than current SP. I do think that there is a pent up demand with low interest rates and govt policy so housebuilding will return - I couldn't decide on which one, so went on step back on the supply chain.

Perhaps the gains from AA will allow me to ave down on IBS. ...

I don't want to ave down on CINE any more as the legal battle, delays in US opening, and issues with movie suppliers have dented my confidence. It's the popcorn and associated ancillaries that make the money, and I fear that will be reduced with the ongoing restrictions in numbers. Not going complete turncoat on this as they had reached a heady 100p only a short while ago, so they have potential, but I don't want to tie up cash for that long as I don't know what length that piece of string is.

No idea... Doesn’t look like it’ll be the thing that will sink Cine, or make it rocket..

Anyone else hold Rightmove? They had a good day - 9% up. Up 25% overall since I bought them, perhaps a bit steady for this thread though!

Skin up again today too, wasn't expecting that.

Question, Something I think I have noticed.
The markets are open to the big investors after 16:30 and before 08:00 for 30 mins is that right?

I have noticed that there are big drops in value of a stock that went ex dividend date on that date. Is that the big investors getting the credit for holding the stock on the ex dividend date and thus the future payout on it but also managing to offload the stock before the market opens lower to us general plebs?

Lol your/you're welcome .......
Good end to the day with EUA move up.....only one more top up n I'm happy there
GGP still happy, well in profit, lots of news to come
Avct finally showing signs that it may lol blow all the other covid shares away, been in n out most of them, but the antigen v antibody made more sense to me back then n still does, well in profit
Seeing as we're on vol 2....for what it's worth
Don't worry if you miss a move, don't chase n get spiked, you can't hit them all just make sure when you do get a winner put it to bed
Trading makes money,but virtually everything I've traded,had I held would've made more
Against the philosophy but if you research a share, also bod/personnel and buy into it,it's easier to ignore the noise of occasional daily 5/10% drops
This thread n it's preceding one is so much more dignified than any bb it's a genuine pleasure to read/post

totally this especially compared to lse threads where you dared'nt say anything negative

do you think avct has that much potential - have some but bought high and dont have a lot cw other covid stocks ie would you buy afresh from now?
