Markets these days seem to be either recovery stock days or st the bed days, with not a great deal of logic IMHO

Yesterday tanks become of UK full lockdown, bad NHS news and likely delay to everything. Today nothings changed and everything recovers (OK oil I get die to OPEC news)

Pretty pleased today 2% up as I don’t hold many recovery stocks other than SAGA and BOO (arguably BOO not recovery). EQT up a bit, lithium fairly flat.

For a change I traded well, sold ALPP and BLNK at their peaks (swallowed a fair loss on ALPP but it bounces a lot so might jump back in as Nasdaq beckons), also added SNG 2% below today’s close.

Reunited with DDDD and SNG now, hopefully they play nicer than last time.

Also just jumped back into BLNK at 41.20, $10k on leverage so slightly risky, hopefully Trump buggers off soon as is chucked in jail
Also holding DDDD, I’m really hopeful of healthy profits on this one. It’ll probably trickle along until Nasdaq admission nears and we have more news on their product pipeline. Feels like a good one to me. GL

4d is my second biggest holding. May take some time, but has vety strong potential to 10 bag in next year or 2 I think. Seems to be doing all the right things, with solid leadership and exciting new approaches.

Anyone in Ilika? Solid state battery technology.

Gone up a fair bit over the past few months but still only £300m MCAP whereas Quantumscape who are pre-revenue making are £23b mcap.

Quantumscape aren’t even projected to earn anything until 2026

https://youtu.be/KUuSt5XHym8 Justin Waite covers them here.
£23bn pre revenue? That’s insane. I couldn’t buy a share in that.

To explain it quickly and badly, it's treatments using bacteria from the gut. They are progressing trials in illnesses including cancer and IDB, with encouraging results.

Floating on nadsaq this month and have partnership with companies like merck.

So with this news who is taking profit now or moving to safer commodities or even cash?
Not behind paywall - https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2021/01/05/ch...

With EU possibly months behind the vaccine ball, there is financial and political trouble brewing. My financial adviser said a couple of weeks ago he expects a major fall before end of Feb.

Whilst on the topic of batteries which was it that suggested COUV on here?

Looking to buy what sounds like incredible tech - Carbon-Ion batteries

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/corporate-universe-...

Then I read more about its predecessor Zapgo and that car crash when Nikola looked to buy it:

https://www.businesscloud.co.uk/news/what-really-h...

Then saw serial failure Voller still involved in current company:
https://www.carbon-ion.energy/management/

Down 15% today, stocktwits on massive hype as usual and was almost tempted at the close, until I read the above

Anyway whoever recommended, would love to get your views on the above
That was me, from the research I have done, the people involved with the company back then have gone. COUV has purchased all 30 patents by buying Zapgo...I think I still haven't gone in yet but watched it retraced a little today, was waiting to sell some more TTCF but the fking thing crashed with the protester so will wait a day or two. I was watching FCEL too for ages and kept thinking when EUA is sold I want some....and then watching it double in a week.

It's not news - just an opinion. The US all-time highs are a concern though. We've not had quite the same rises in the UK - which might contribute to a false sense of security.

It would be quite demoralising to cash out now and see the market rise again to mid 7000s.
I think you need to remove FAMAG and Tesla and measure US indices again, they really distort the picture

If my crystal ball wasnt on the blink in 2020 and I had chucked all my cash and the mortgage into Tesla a) I would be very happy right now and b) the current levels would be a concern

There was a BBC article the other day about Tesla millionaires. If you got in back around 2012, you'd have been paying $5-6 a share. Just the casual 125x increase to date. ($4 ish in 2010). yikes

I was happy with 9x on Apple until I read that and checked the dates. I'd have been at 70x on Tesla.....(not that I would have had the confidence to put as much in).

Why so?
Why not take out your initial capital so you are simply gambling the profits

It’s not cowardly to do this it’s smart.
I feel this with some of my shares. I’m planning on cashing out some even from tomorrow.

Still kicking myself for not selling BAB end of November when it hit 360. I planned on selling at 350 then thought ah maybe it will go to 400. NO NO NO

So behind the curve at the moment, didn't even realise the new thread had spawned.

Must admit, I've just started seeing dividends from my sensible shares. Now tossing up between sensible (BP) or a bit daft (CCL) or some daft share from here.
