What’s your big gamble? (Volume 3)
Discussion
Could this be a correction on overvalued stocks? I smugly bought Twitter last week thinking it was cheap... nope, it's even cheaper today than when I bought it last week. It feels like one of them moments where you see your all the Xmas presents you bought in December half price in January

Further price crashes on all EV and green US stuff
BEEM for example peaked at a 650m valuation, now it’s 187
Now 650 was probably nonsense but one of these days these are going to be cheap cs potential.
Bloody hope so because I am very bored of mine (EQT, ETMC, ABML) kicking me in the nuts every day.
FAR is proving tiresomely expensive too
ADOM is the one that bugs me the most. I bought that late Jan when it was tipped on here and it's been a complete (electric) car crash ever since.BEEM for example peaked at a 650m valuation, now it’s 187

I have a few like this that are just sat in a lth pile hoping that one day, in 5 years time, someone buys it or they build the first fusion powered car or something and it ten bags overnight. It's not impossible for such shares to grow in value over time but need to keep an eye on results and sell if they are simply losing money and will never get anywhere.
I now seem to have a portfolio of some very solid long term holds

Elsewhere, VW looking tempting again.

Although it would have been sensible of me to have taken my 350% on XPEV when it got into the $70s. I haven't given up quite yet that there will be another surge in interest in the green sector.

I agree but not sure if it’s my wishful thinking that it will happen soon Although it would have been sensible of me to have taken my 350% on XPEV when it got into the $70s. I haven't given up quite yet that there will be another surge in interest in the green sector.
So having only really started messing with some Sipp money back in December I have now committed the cardinal sin and decided to go all in EUA, the bitcoin miners I had were tanking so ditched them this morning, obviously ARB now had a rally.... The theory is EUA bonanza and then sell them and start over. If it doesn't work I suspect I will be back at lower than I started in December having been 120% up in Feb, am I getting the hang of this share gambling now?

From what I can work out is, the only way to get the hang of it is to buy and then just sit on your hands. Selling and trading and whatnot is a recipe for disaster.Adam. said:

I tried to find out what green companies are linked to WEF members. Fake meats will also be pushed (notice how cow farming is making its appearance in the news more) and i think eletric bike/scooter manufacturers

ADOM is up almost 12% today! Where did you get in? At one point they touched about 80 cents.
I now seem to have a portfolio of some very solid long term holds
ADOM in fact is DOWN over 12% today.I now seem to have a portfolio of some very solid long term holds
1st buy 28th Jan at 52c
2nd buy 10th Feb at 67c
Average = 60c
Current sp = 18c
69% down as of today!
Luckily I only put £3k in but of that I only have about £978 left.
Definitely my worst buy ever! Albeit SNG and EQT are doing their best to match ADOM !
It's what happens when you get fomo and want some EV action without doing your own DD.

Completely agree Luke. Just to add, do meaningful DD before you buy and don't just follow the crowd as if you do the smart money has already had the 5 bags and you're left with the drop.MikeStroud said:

ADOM is definitely a more speculative EV play. All the EV market has been getting trashed so it's not exclusive to ADOM.

How is that foolish? They're on the verge of building their first recycling plant of many. Good times. I'm now on 48,500 shares with an average of $1.87. Holding for 5 years and couldn't be happier about it.
It was tongue in cheek mate20,500 shares at average $1.62 here
