Oh yes, very much so. But earlier on in this thread people were saying not to go back in this year but according to dingg the bottom was three weeks ago .... what am I to do?

Perhaps this is why I'm not rich and never will be, eh?

Arguably, if you feel we are at least near to the bottom (nobody knows where that will be, of course!), now could be precisely the time to be putting things in.....

As others have noted, average in if you can’t make a choice that you’re personally happy with.

biggrin

Seriously, just average in - drip, nibble, set a DD up maybe, but (IMO) not the time (yet) to lump sum or go in too heavy

Thanks Phooey. Yes, putting little bits in is probably sensible. And I think the new rules only permit me to do so with IM using a DD (although I'll check).

Calling the bottom is always the art. And it's not one that I will ever manage. So dripping in some time around the bottom is the only option.

You have a one track mind. And it's a dirt track! I'd never even considered the double entendre when I wrote that post!

Could things get worse & go lower? Of course they could.
Will they climb back eventually? Almost certainly - that is the nature of the markets.
Unless you believe we are in an apocalyptic span for human life on earth - in which case, stock up on water, beans, bullets - these things are cyclical.

If you’re talking about Westminster I doubt Boris resigning will make much difference to a global balanced portfolio as the UK is about 3.9% of a global portfolio of stocks.

Intelligent Money Pie charts ( Investment weightings )

Gentleman, something happened to the pie charts for your optimum Global growth , or have the weightings changed significantly and just not updated properly ?

I checked both the product offering section on the main website , and mine in the private client summary graphic and the "Uk equities" slice is either missing, or actually no longer exists . Its like the pesky "grey crayon" got lost as the percentage totals on no longer add up to 100% ( only add to 73.5 )
Optimum Cautious exhibits the same error idea

If they have, it looks like it landed right on top of Joules HQ.

Down ~20% so far today.

Hello, while we're notifying IT, I'd like to ask a question on behalf of my mum. She wants to check her beneficiaries are in place but we can't find the link to do that when logged in to her account. I'm pretty sure I set mine up via the website but I have no idea where and now can't find how to check for mum. Cheers!

Mine has a section near the bottom for managing beneficiaries next to the dividends etc.

I'm sure that wasn't there but I'll check with her again. Thanks

Good morning

If you click on "my pension" and scroll right down to the bottom, you should see a "nominated beneficiaries" section and there is a tab to manage. It's just below the contributions section. You can also email me directly at steve.cooper@intelligentmoney.com and I can amend or add the details for you.

kindest regards

Coops

Hi Steve, it's just a S&S ISA, not a pension. Do beneficiaries even need to be declared for an ISA? I'm pretty sure I did with mine, but I may be wrong!

This 'Coops' has a new account. Clearly an imposter!

As it's just 'savings', name your beneficiaries in your Will.
