Not as good as it was made out to be at the time it was announced.

Hmm, guess it depends if the share price of BAR.L picks up as they have halved since the announcement?

When I checked LSE earlier, the 'deal' was calculated to be worth 31/32p when factoring in BAR.L dip.

I was watching IDP with a view to getting in should there be solid evidence of progress being made, so it was disappointing to see a predominantly paper offer from a loss making business come in. Nothing has really persuaded me otherwise since then. I suppose the positive is that there should be more funds available to push development of the business, but it remains to be seen how that pans out.

doubled up on my activision blizzard with buffett being a hardly ever seller I can hold that for a year and make 20% happy with that return

Dripped a little more into all my div stocks legal and general, reality income, persimmon, and Vale (yesterday) . Been a while since I added to them and I want to see a big increase in my yearly dividend income.

7p plus 0.382 x current BAR SP of 69p = 33.5p

But u get it in their shares, so getting their shares at say 69p could have alot of upturn?

BP make big profits this quarter partly from their trading operations. Politicians call for a windfall tax because BP and other energy companies made such profits whilst us peasants are getting ripped off.

Do the politicians feel the same way when these companies make losses about helping them out?
And the $24.4bn hit from exiting Rosneft is a footnote to most of the articles.

I can't remember much public sympathy when the world shut down for covid either.
Ridiculous comments from Labour/Lib Dems/Greens spurred on by the likes of the BBC.
No help for the oil companies when making a loss, no financial help when they pulled out of Russia.
And they want them to invest in developing more environmentally friendly energy.
Two faced the lot of them.

As an aside, i sold out of BP this morning thinking it would drop back again. Didn't, up another 7p.

They are out of money aren't they? I've not looked at todays news in detail but I'm assuming a nice pump for the inevitable fundraise?

An old PrimaryBid punt has suddenly rocketed in the past few days. I sold it all this morning when I found that one of the Directors and the Swiss Bank investor sold big chunks of their holdings last Friday. It's risen 12% this morning because it reported it's first quarterly profit.

Ok suggestions please.

I have a high-risk portfolio that is currently being held up by Kodal Minerals - essentially money I set aside in an ISA that I accepted I may never see again (SYME looking at you).

I have now transferred another £3k following bonus time. For this I want a basket of solid, dividend-payers. What would you go for?

with a 12/24 month investment horizon (ie not 10 years) I went with:

ZIM Integrated Shipping Services Ltd
Quarterly dividend amount USD 17.00
Current SP USD 62.5
Annual dividend yield 108.83%
