Did you close off the shorts? I've seemingly ended up long on the index and been getting trashed for most of the week.

Seems to have bounced a little in the last hour or so.
Closed them all first thing this morning, all ended up in the black for me but collected about half of what it would have been.

Beggars can't be choosers though, so not too worried.

I'm going to buy some of Emergent Biosolutions, they don't have monkeypox vaccines but do have smallpox which is an effective variant/treatment so as people get priced out of the the other two, I'm hoping they spillover into this. It's only up about 20% so far versus the 40%+ of the others.

Only a small punt going on it to be fair.

Lol, really shouldn't trade first thing on morning, sat there wondering how come if I made money on my shorts and then just bought into the rising trackers for SPX and Nasdaq I'm down over two grand...then realised the bloody US trackers this I bought this morning had settled in US $ but ETF is £ denominated frown lol, just given ii some free money on a pointless FX exchange.

Would be easier if I did this crap full time instead of squeezing it around the day job biggrin

£50 on each is in, throwaway money but not willing to risk anything proper on a pure gamble.

emergent is up 12% today and my order executed in time to see some of that as profit, my Siga one didn't so I'm underwater, despite the 40% spike.

I sold out of emergent at a profit very quickly, but am carrying the can with SIGA, only 20% down smile

Still not cost me as much as my fx cock up this morning.

At least my switch out of short to long on the US was nicely timed.

Unsurprisingly the Judge approved Amigo giving back £115million to its customers rather than accept a filing for bankruptcy.
So now all the shareholders get to do is watch their holding diluted by 95% to only 5% of the original company.
"Owt's better than nowt" I suppose.
Still no approval from FCA that they can start relending though.

I'm not sure whether to keep it as a longer term play rather than trade it. Could give good divs for a while. Just reinvest the fiv a month or so after the div ex date as they always seem to fall off after it. Or sell the day before and buy back in... not really sure what my plan is

Plenty of happy faces over on the lse to the moon board.
Playing Devils Advocate, or hypothesising or something, if the current share price rocketed to say £1 and was diluted by 95% then it's just back to roughly where it is now.....

So here's a which one question.
If you had, say £1K to place, would you go TED, THG, SNG or AMGO?
All with history on this the "Gamble" thread.

With current shipping inflation ot makes more money than it knows what to do with hence the huge divis.

Doesn’t it just rise by the div to cum div date, and fall back by div thereafter

Most shares iv noticed seem to drop off very heavyly after ex div day. seems alot of people think they can buy bank the div and hope it doesnt fall but it almost always does.

Yes, had a very quick in and out at 8.00 Profit's a profit but I left too much on the table, should have held a further few minutes

Edit: now dropping and lower than I sold. Expect a second rise shortly I suspect but not sure I'm brave enough.
