If the dividend policy is based on a percentage of profit, surely the SP will be hammered in your profit halved scenario?
Always enjoy your uplifting views smile

SP already has been hammered so it could be concluded all the future reduced profit is baked in.

I aim to please!

Not looked into ZIM before despite it featuring in this thread. Looks like it only listed in early 21 and is now back down to the listing price? Opportunistic timing with the shipping boom smile

Without checking shipping prices/costs it looks like they weren't really making money prior to 21, so perhaps there is further to fall but I'd agree that the majority of the drop is likely baked in. Have they used the opportunity of the last couple of years to improve the balance sheet/asset backing? If so, that could act as a nice support to the share price.

They have increased their container capacity 15% iirc and lease alot of ships so can be agile to the market. Also they are involved with lng shipping now.

Fuel costs are way down which will help

Yes with it being back at the ipo price there can't be too many people left that will sell imo.

Buying now for a future higher shipping rate and share price resulting in high dividend is my plan just now.

Looks like RMM is as good as dead.

I didn't have much in it at all (thankfully) but it was another one of those shares that was heavily ramped a year or so ago.

Anyone in Celadon Pharmaceuticals Plc ?

Had a quick rise in last month or so - '' Receipt of updated Home Office licence enables Celadon to commence the commercial supply of its GMP pharmaceutical cannabis product '' .
DYOR.

Up 13.5% now

Sone positive vibes from China (deflation and infrastructure investment to be up 20%) plus OPEC supply reduction now viewed as less impactful - may have helped ?

Yes me too. Even my buy at 19 on ex div day is up now.

Can't understand why though. Does the auto drip buy for those with it kick in a few days after the payment is made? I would have thought it would be on the day so could be that money going back into it?

Oil is a cost for shipping.
That’s a lot off stuff that China needs that arrives by ship.

Perhaps

On the subject of ZIM, I was charged 25% Israeli withholding tax.

Is there anyway by which I can reduce this?

All my other stocks are held within an ISA, so don't have this issue.

Not really, do what I did and sell cum div and buy back at ex div - you make a capital gain rather than dividend income
