Chase email today advising they will shortly be introducing 1% interest on current account balances also
Great news, whilst it's not much there aren't too many current accounts paying interest and if you still get 1% on spending it's a nice extra perk.

Has anyone reached their 1 year anniversary with this yet? I wonder if they'll allow you to renew the 1% cashback for another year, or whether this is designed to replace it?
Reached the end of my 1 year cashback at the end of last year, Chase extended it to the end of this month, Today I got the email confirming the new 1% with paying in £500 in the previous month and they have also extended the current 1% to cover march which is the initial April qualification period.

I was part of the chase community survey and I made it quite clear no cashback I'd no longer use the account, there were other options but this always seemed their preferred as it was the main offer they surveyed against, the other just some final Q's with other options and thoughts on those variations

The initial 1% cashback offer is being replaced by a similar offer but with some conditions attached: 1% cashback up to £15, provided you pay in £500 each month.
Is this final? I though there were other options being considered like funding the current account externally >= £1000 per month?
There were a few options mooted in a survey I did a while back, but this is what's appeared on my app, effective 1st March:

Hopefully that applies when I reach the anniversary of my cashback offer, glad it doesn't seem like they'll just remove it as it first appeared.

The way I understand it is that you have to pay in £500 during the month BEFORE the anniversary in order to receive cashback the following month.

setting up £500 to go in every month is easy enough.
Can always transfer back anyhting you don't spend to your real bank account

I leave enough in my Nationwide account to pay the bills but dump everything else over to Chase - a chunk into savings and daily spending from the current account so that won't be an issue. I just couldn't be arsed swapping all my pay and DDs to Chase, it's hardly a chore to ping the money over when the salary goes into my NW account.

Interestingly Nationwide have added cashback to my FlexPlus curent account - 5% but capped at £10/mo and only until the 30th April. Their savings interest rate is still st though - just 1.3% gross.

Just had an email that Chase will pay 1% on current account balances from April.

Even though I keep my balance in there to a minimum this is welcome

Be nice if it encouraged my “main” bank to follow suit but I doubt it

If they add more facilities eg DD and standard orders I might switch once and for all…

They couldn’t transfer money overseas for me either. No way you could replace your normal bank to Chase yet.

I don't have any direct debits setup in Chase, but they offer them don't they? It's certainly implied on the Scheduled tab.

You have been able to setup DDs and SOs for ages on Chase.

just checked and i got the email on 16th feb, said interest starts in april. I’m not seeing any mention on the chase website (yet). but it’s in press releases online and I got the email, I figure it’ll appear on the app/ website before it kicks in

Been trying to open a Chase account for the last week.

Open the app, start process, send in pictures of passport and my ugly mug, 10-15 mins later get message back saying all good to go, open app again.

All I then get is it wanting to redo the photos again. Four times I’ve done it now, waste of ruddy time.

Have you got the customer services number? - when I had a question I got straight through to a lad in Scotland

Mine was a bit spotty too, but I then got a message saying it was all good and logged in and it was. This was after I had decided to give it up as a bad job.

However since then i love the service. Really can't fault them. Actually one small complaint but it's a feature of the account, I wish the card had card details printed on it. It's a bit of a pain opening the app to get card details when you can't just use an online wallet to pull everything across. But it's a minor complaint and one I don't feel often. I will quite likely migrate all my business across once they flesh it out to more than just a cash card.

One real benefit of the Chase account in my experience is that it is really easy to actually talk to somebody who can help.

Call them from within the app and they know who you are which makes stuff easy.

The only gripe is that one can't pay in the occasional cheque.

I'm surprised that they've not offered the option to pay in via photo like many banks have. In fact with so many banks leaving high streets, this should be a required banking standard now.
