Has the Chase bubble burst?

A number of providers are offering higher interest rates now. YBS at 1.55% for over £10k. Virgin offering 1.71% with a saver linked to their current account.

No and I doubt Chase will keep that up after the first year. I’m sticking with Chase for now.

Chase has been brilliant, app works well and easy to use. 1.5% savings, 1% cashback and 5% round up all being used.

Do wonder weather Marcus (currently 1.3) may beat the 1.5% savings pretty soon though?

Same here, Well it was stated for the first 12 months of account open 1% cashback. I wouldn't of thought they would have extended it past that. But for the moment for me its the best all round account going at the moment smile

Yup, really liking the Chase card, however it doesn't look I can link it to my QuickBooks account. Which is rather annoying as I have to manually load up any necessary transactions....

My son has just set up a Chase account and was very impressed how easy it was. It suits him well as he buys lots of small items (mainly beer and food it seems!) on debit. One slightly odd thing - there is currently no provision to pay in cheques or cash, so he is keeping his old current account open for when that odd occasion arises.

I wish they would add the balance you had before you spent next to a transaction. Like most other banks.

Marcus now up to 1.5 after an email today. Still keep with chase for savings till Marcus beat it shortly I expect

They also don’t offer ISA’s, international transfers or some other main bank facilities.

Like others I’m keeping my main bank account and keeping Chase for cash/spending.

They will have to move their savings rate up soon, as people with Chase accounts can sweep from other higher earning instant access savings accounts into their Chase ‘current account’ with just enough funds to earn 1% cashback on their debit card spending.

Was thinking that myself when there are other accounts paying a lot more.

However will still keep for the 1% cashback at the moment.

Yes it is. I’ve held on as I like the Chase app but think I’ll move some £’s back to Marcus.

Yes it is - I moved my savings back to Marcus early last week, though I'll keep using the current a/c for cashback on my general spending.

There were lots of errors yesterday too, over half an hour of failed attempts make a transfer between savings and current account then near failure of purchase authorization and only succeeded after a force close/stop of the app and restart the authorization in the middle of the online purchase. Their IT is really starting to fall apart under the strain, Slow transactions gave way to "cant get your info" messages and now actual persistent failures to access my money
