Chase was good for a while, but far more competitive instant access rates now - so moved majority out, left some in there, but using it mainly for the 1% cashback and round ups now mainly day to day shopping - see how long this perk lasts for.
It's for 12 months from when you activated the cashback.the tribester said:
Even Santander are offering a 2.75% instant access now. Chase are way behind.
6 months ago i nearly took out a 5 year fix mortgage with a load of equity withdrawn. I didnt because of the high exit fee from my current deal.
id be getting a higher rate from instant access than that remortgage now....
With today’s uplift to 2.1% I’ll stick with Chase for now.
Partly because I’m lazy, which is what banks rely upon.
But also because the grass isn’t always that greener.
The Santander 2.75% easy access rate for example - after a year it kicks you onto their Everyday Saver product at a paltry 0.2% and the whole transfer merry-go-round kicks off again - balls to that.
Besides, for me the Chase 1% cashback and 5% round-up probably cancel out the higher Santander rate over a year.
Longer term fixes hold some attraction, but at this rate I’ll be raiding the Chase account to pay down my mortgage when the fixed rate expires next year.

Probably not to much to worry about, as for every £10k you've got ready to pay your mortgage off that's £30 difference over 6 months. I'm getting 2% from Virgin M Saver as they up'd the rate for this month, but it might be handy for me to have a Santander account for some other funds to transfer into, even if only temporary while I work out where to fix them (or whether to fix them or not yet). I was slow/late setting up a Chase account and (for now) it's bettered elsewhere, though I might still set one up just to cover options: It's so easy moving money around these days that I might as well do it if there is even a small increase. I can understand others not having the time or inclination to do it though.Partly because I’m lazy, which is what banks rely upon.

Most moved to Santander's eSaver now, still have little going into chase for shopping, only for the 1% cashback they still offer, chase were too late for me upping the rates.
Atom, I have a few monies in a fixed for 12 months, see where we are after then - think going to stay put for abit, mad how easy it is these days to flip money about, and open new accounts on the fly.

The APR on the Chase saver account is being increased to 2.7% from the 4th of Jan 2023.
The deposit max is also being increased from £250,000 to £500,000
