Looking at Tandem, you open the account via there app, it asks you
to link to your bank account where you agree to link accounts and give them access, Is that safe?

Yes that sounds like Open Banking. Most are doing the same now.

It means you're not manually entering your bank details to do a transfer so once it's all setup it feels a lot less scary to move big quantities of cash around.

Is that basically what that Truelayer is? Noticed this on some of the banking apps, uses that system to talk your bank.

Santander have a reasonable selection of ISA's at the minute although the better rates are fixed term.

I've not had to look at ISA's for years with the combo of low interest rates and the personal savings allowance. The decent rates at present are making cash ISA's relevant again for me at least......
I’ve just “upgraded” my instant access Isa with them from 1.85% to 3.2%, 1 year fix is 4.15% at the min.

"We're increasing the interest rate on your eSaver Limited Edition (Issue 1) to 3.25% AER / 3.20% gross (variable)."
Does this good news only apply to the eSaver Limited Edition? I have a "standard" eSaver account and the interest rate is still 1.5% frown
Is there a limited edition?

I signed up as per OP recommendation @2.72% and have since been informed its increasing to 3.2%
When?

Limited edition or closed take your pick, but could you open one today, no.

The mobile apps are easily paying the best rates, I don't want one.

We will find out eventually, I wouldn't trust a mobile app with a large amount of money personally.

As a super paranoid cyber security chap I probably shouldn't, but I do. Its like jaffa cakes IMO. You know you shouldn't, you know its risky, but you just do it anyway.

Cov BS launching a loyalty ISA tomorrow. 4.40% fixed until 31/5/24.

Email doesn't say if it allows transfers in or not, but even if not I think thats probably the market leader now...

On the website front page, it states 'Previous years' ISA savings cannot be transferred into this account'

Ah yes - I was going by the email they sent me, but you're right the main site does confirm that.

Not half as good as I thought then, which is lucky as I transferred my entire past ISA balance into the Santander 18mth fix at 4.25% last week! lol...

Still its the forerunner now for next years allowance tomorrow morning I guess.

does it make sense to put money in ISA @ 4.5% or pay off student loan currently sitting @ 4.5%?

don't need access to the cash for ages yet.

Well applied and despite what it said on the website you can do transfers in, both from Cov and pther providers. Oh well.

Virtually never makes sense to pay off student loan early given the flexibility.

Zopa rates on the up:
Instant access 3.34%
7 day notice 3.38%
31 day notice 3.45%
95 day notice 3.55%

About 0.13% increase across the patch.

Am I right that Chase is still 3.1 and Santander is still 3.2?
