Why is the BF already potentially entitled to anything?

They are not married, and assuming he hasn’t put his hand in his pocket for improvements to the property( not fixture and fittings)

Then I don’t see where the entitlement is?
He isn't automatically entitled to anything, but if a breakup becomes acrimonious and he sought to make a claim based on him contributing to the household costs, potentially even the mortgage payments, or say a new kitchen or bathroom, or maybe paying for an extension, new roof or something significant then he may get awarded some equity.

It can all get very nasty very quickly in breakups, especially if a 3rd person is involved, and one party can choose to go to a level to get back at the other party even if it may seem unfounded at first glance. Even worse and harder if children are involved.

I'm a retired Solicitor. Obviously I must be more rusty than I thought. You say the daughter's share but at the moment she is the only one with a share. OP will only have a share if she gifts it to him out of what is currently entirely her's, and BF is already cohabiting.
Yes, you’re correct in that he already has a potential share over the whole, but as a cohabitee he would have to consent to the remortgage / transfer of equity to put the OP back on anyway so thats hes point to challenge current status or consent and let it go through.
Cheers, yes I thought there was a step missing, however bf consenting now does not preclude him rowing back on it later when it matters (and then easily framing this as a straight forward effort to limit him with an artificial gift from daughter to op after cohabitation began since that is exactly what would be happening).

It all looks a lot more complicated than I was hoping. I have absolute faith in my daughter with regard to the money I've given her. Thanks for everyone's input and I'm hoping it all comes out ok in the wash.
