To cut a long sotory short I bought some shares when I was a student 13 yrs ago that were pretty much penny shares. Now they are worth significantly more than I paid for them originally.

I believe they would still be registered to one of my old University addresses from back then - how can I go about 'moving' or 'reclaiming' them so they have the correct address for me again? I don't think I have the original certificate anymore

You need to find the registrar, they will tell you how to go about reclaiming them.
The firms website might list it, or maybe the LSE (assuimng they are listed there)
