Is MTFB still a good buy, 38.25, posts on here suggest it rose to 44 and then has dropped again? But research indicates it could go way up

I think a three legged donkey at the 3:30 at Kempton might be a better bet for me having had a quick read of the circumstances of the collapse...
OK thanks will give it a miss!

re gsk

whats not to like as you say 80p a year divis , bang a load in the portfolio and forget about them , after 15 years you'll have bought them for free from the divis

I bought some on thursday so may be biased

The issue I would have its 5% pa divi but not a lot of share growth and the risk divi' could be withdrawn on a down turn, personally I'd feel happier in treasury gilts for that return, but that's me. I'd be interested to know someone who deals for real what their opinion is on this subject....

On the subject of pharma's I'm not sure if the horse has already bolted but HCM caught my eye not so long back in the pharma world.

tell that to those that paid £20 for the stock years ago. It's a bit of a pup in my opinion and that dividend is unsustainable. It's 90% of their earnings so where is the capital for growth coming from? Debt.

they've been paying that divi for as long as i can see so I for one don't expect a change in the near future , yes the share has spiked and been to £20 BUT you conveniently forget its also been to £10 and having bought in at 1448p I'm comfortable with my position and if need to will add on any weakness.

I haven't forgotten. I just don't follow if and fair enough. For me there are few Giants that I'd buy currently. Good luck smile

Me too, sold 70% of my sxx holding now. I'm hoping it gets below 22p again and I'll be back in like a ferret.

I'm waiting on that 21/22p moment! There must still be a good amount of short term gains on SXX.L surely? Fluctuations are people get in and out, before we start heading towards a long term gain?

I can't see SXX falling much more than it already has done - it seems to bounce off 24 up to 26.. just hoping it takes off past 26...

Bought 2774 shares in MTFB at 37.5p after doing quite a bit of research. They have since continued to fall. Also in for 3k at boohoo for 188p which is also falling. My first dabble in the stock market so fingers crossed this isn't a total mistake.

If you stand by your research and nothing fundamental has changed just wait it out. Otherwise its just gambling.

sound advice. The number of times I've heard people say 'stocks are very high risk, I've only ever lost money' those types should stay away. The market moves all over the place. stick to what's going on with the company.

I bought more MTFB today, it is all over the place and I'm not sure why, there is some new shares being issued this week and something about some warrants being converted which I don't fully understand, there is also some worries about how they will finance the latter stages of the FDA approval - more equity, debt? And how they license Iclaprim outside of the US - but the fact that they've got these issues seems like it's massively positive to me!

Hold tight, it never hit the 50p I suggested the week before last but this time next year Rodney... etc... etc...

Free, warrants are just like options (Call). Only difference is the company issues a warranty vs a market maker(bank etc) will issue an option. It gives the holder the right to by common stock at a set price and for a period of time. Buffet loves them
