£0 over probably about 10 years on a £100 investment.

My time will come!

I have been hoping that too! I have had £50 for 29 years and its yielded nothing. I am about to put 25k in short term before a house move so im hoping all my luck comes soon!

Why are you happy with a 1% annual return when inflation is 3+%?

Because I got more than 1x£25 or £0.

It's just one month, could well win the big one next month.

I also have my savings diversified to spread risk etc.

Genuine question, never looked into this.

Some of you have a substantial amount invested, but the returns seem to be minimal?

Why not invest the money elsewhere?

Because its low risk. And Nowhere is offering any 'very' good returns really. Making an extra few % for the sake of moving it all about etc doesn't appeal to me. I couldn't care less about making another £300 a year on it.

Because 'made up investment...'.
On a serious note, usually the 'diversify' line is given.
My Dad has all his savings in premium bonds (idiot) as he wants quick/instant access to his money if he decides he wants another new motor.
However, he was worth a lot more in 1990 when he took them all out than he is now.

The best way to do it (if you want PB's) is to reinvest your winnings I suppose, then that'd be a more accurate way to check performance of the 'investment'.
Personally, I think they're an absolute con and are no where near worth the fact they're advertised as risk-free.
Inflation has proven to destroy the value of them over time.
Maybe worth sticking 10% of what you have in them for a chance (which isn't going to happen) of winning a decent amount. But any more than that, for anything more than short-term, is foolish.

I have no investment in Premium Bonds, but the main reasons for most people doing so would be that they carry zero risk and are tax free. The chance, though admittedly very small, of a big win is there too of course.

Tin foil hat on; wonder who actually wins the 2 x £1 million prizes...? People who need a tax-free pay off from the Gov? Relatives/friends? Who knows.

Risk free and no tax plus, hopefully, it'll still beat what banks are paying and by that i mean the ones that are regulated by thhe FCA.

I personally know one girl that won 100k and a couple that won 30k. That probably narrows my odds even more :-)

Well that's a slight reason to have them, lol. My Dad has won £10k and £5k but has won nothing of substance for at least a decade.
Regularly wins the little ones.

Current return so far this year at 1.54% with 30K.

Good return for being low risk.

Running at half inflation...?
Haven't LCF got a savings account paying 8%?

I'd class their offering as medium risk, not low risk.
