It's not a fair comparison, but putting £50K into an asset that assuming all goesaveragely well you're still not keeping up with inflation strikes me as a poor medium to long term plan - I can entirely see the "put it in for 6 months" perspective.

Best month yet on £50k... 4x£25, which puts me a bit above the average annual return after 4 months.

£50 on my first month with £50k in... Pretty crap return still over the last 5 months.

I like looking at the detail of a larger prize winners though, always gives me hope for next month!

Both millionaires have about £25k invested.

Two £50k prizes went to £10k and £6.3k investments made Oct 2017... I'd be pretty happy with those return too! :lol:

Yes. Long term wouldn't be great if it's all you're doing with your money.
But I'd say most with pb know they need to get their hands on that money in the near future. That's why I have them, and for that I really do think they're a fantastic, risk free and easy option. Nobody is claiming they're a solid long term investment. Not at the moment anyway.

True, but the fund has returned over 20% for the last 5-6 years, just highlighting the poor returns on premium bonds.
