I've got 6k of bonds at the moment

I'll need to park 50 grand for 13 months shortly.

I can get 825 quid in interest with ford finances' bond over 12 months if I park the cash there.

If I bunged it in premium bonds, let's be honest, I am unlikely to get the equivalent to 70 quid each and every month (averaged out) over a year in prizes am I?
My Premium Bond results with 50k invested are:
2019 : £475
2018 : £825
2017 : £550
2016 : £525

So you probably wont match £825, but you might, or you might exceed it by a long way. For the sake of a couple of hundred pounds of interest, to me its worth a gamble.
Agreed.

Mine on £50k
2017 £525
2018 £625
2019 £900

Wife on £50k
2017 £425
2018 £500
2019 £450

I think, with interest rates generally so piss poor, it’s worth taking a little less guaranteed for the fun every month!

Received email that I had won a prize.

Sent this email to spam as I don’t have any premium bonds.

Googled premium bonds spam emails out of curiosity and learned that these spam emails never address you by your name.

Resurrected spam email and and it clearly had my name on it.

Dug out sign on details from February 2015 and loh & behold I still have £100 in there!!!!!!

Treated wife to curry rice and chips tonight with winnings.

Because she’s worth it yes

I have just worked out my winnings for 2019 in my premium bonds account. I wondered what others managed to get in percentage terms.
My 2019 came in at 1.62% which was less than I thought. For some reason I thought i was over 2%.

Calculated by percentage gain over original holdings in jan.

I guess at least its just about better than a Marcus.

Then you're doing well, ours is 1% over the last twelve months, total return is 4.2%, one day we might win one of the elusive £1m prizes.
