Premium Bonds - Not a bean for months now!!!!

1x £25 of £50k
2x £25 on £50k
£75 total on £100k
For a total of 5 draws Jan-May, we're currently at £1,000 with annualised total winnings of 2.5% so not bad all considered.
Had this proportion of cash remained in the property it came from it'd probably be worth £105,000 now though, rather than £101,000... it really puts into scope how the economy is so knackered when even a very good Premium Bond return is still completely blown to pieces by the most fundamental required asset (shelter) just going up in price year on year.
We're all doomed.

Nothing in 18 months for me on £5,800, thats got to be some sort of record?
Im taking the £5k out and paying a lump sum off the mortgage, im still putting 250 a month into my ISA and mortgage overpayment, with the rates so low premium bonds are dead for me - unless I win the jackpot next month....

4x25 on ~27k
Looking back at prize history, i've got 16 x £25 since July 2020 and nothing before that going back to account opening in 2016. Its really hard to work out the actual return as my math isn't good enough (the balance goes up by varying amounts each month). I've been more active with putting money in since June 2020 though, so whether that is a factor vs. say a long standing dormant account?

Following this thread as I've just put £50,000 in this month. I've not tried bonds before so hoping for at least one £25 win in my first year which will surpass anything I've got from keeping it in a Halifax savings account.
You don't want to set unachievable goals but it'd be quite something to not get a single win!Gassing Station | Finance | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
