My new neighbour has a diesel ride on. Monster 50 inch cut, and I assume you can run them on red derv?

You can run them on Red. Assuming you have a licence or legal redress to do so...

Yes you can run anything on red as long as you don't go on the road with it.

Finding 'red'is another matter,after two years of asking around I finally found a local filling station which has a pump,based quite close to the biggest hire centre in the area, 88.9 a litre just last week.

The guy running the place says you can buy up to 100 litres without problem,anything over that amount and you have prove identity,fill forms in and possibly get someone from Customs and Excise(or whatever name they use now) giving you a visit.

The 100l restriction is cover the bottom of the petrol station owner, the onus is still on the user to ensure they're allowed to use it...
