Doth thou know of any covert cameras that may be able to capture face details and number plates from at least 20 feet. Over 180 degrees?

If thou doth not. I'm planning a bird box/fake plant/planter containing 3 cameras. What cameras would thou suggest?

Over that distance its going to be very hard. How wide is the field of view going to be? What are the lighting conditions?

Number plates are even harder and i would only ever recommend a dedicated reg camera. They are provide a very dark picture that usually on the registration plate can be seen on. They are also not cheap!

Any decent camera with a high res might catch some plates if it is zoomed in tight but it depends on the driveway opening.

Well the problem is people keep helping themselves to cars parked on the road/drives. Absolutely all of the them drive past the house. Plus I'm at a "T" so some drive head on towards it.

We think they are turning up in a car and helping themselves to a 2nd.

So I'd like to monitor all 3 directions, and then another just for my drive/cars. Idea being if they take my car I get a nice shot of them from the "drive camera" and one of the others will show what car they arrived in.

Problem there is his cans are all overt. If they see cameras on a house around here you can expect to be targeted for lots of antisocial behavior. Cos your helping the pigs innit.

There is only so much you can do with covert 'stuff'.

Surely worth a phone call?!

Are they stealing the cars or from the cars?

Well the police only ask me if I saw a car being stolen.

Have a look at Axis cameras. I use a couple that are not visible from outside and they do a good job.

How many times has this happened? The Police may well be taking their own actions.

Aye. Was hoping someone might have seen/know of something useful. I'm sure 42 know their stuff. But as none of their advertised stuff fit what I was looking for (which I grant you may be impossible), I thought I'd ask see if anybody knew of anything.

I'm sure they are. However that probably involves increased patrols. And with no idea who to look for they could patrol until the cows come home.
