Have gas & electricity boxes next to the main entrance door to my house & they are looking a little neglected having been painted by a previous owner at least 9yrs ago. Would it be easier to re-paint or to replace them? If I replace, are they all fairly standard, I'm a bit of a stranger to DIY to be honest!

Painting should be easy enough. Make sure you remove all the loose and flacky paint first by scraping or sanding. Use a paint specific for outdoors (weatherproof).

You could replace them if they are very bad. They are not always the easiest of things to find. Only the much bigger B & Q stores tend to stock them.

Found some on eBay but on contacting the seller they need to be fitted by a qualified tradesman apparently. Guess it'll cheaper to paint them. I have some decent external white gloss & primer, will use that.
