I'd sort the ceiling first.

Things I won't mess with in the house.

1. Electrical systems.

2. Water systems.

Both have the potential to cause damage, extra cost and pain.

The ceilings have just been re-plastered but that lump of plaster is not as bad as it looks. Most of it will break away when I come to fit the new light.

The only thing I forgot to ask is what amp rating terminal block should I use for this?

I'd go larger than you really need simply because you need to get 3 solid cores into one of them so you need a fairly large one.
