Goy mu missus one for Xmas along with a trick brabantia special board to use with them, (catches the condensation so your floor does to get wet).
She was chuffed out of her Moonboots.

At the risk of public ridicule ...... I do my own ironing from time to time. I have had a Tefal steam generator iron for about 6 years and they make ironing a piece of wee.

Just bought a Bosch system at the weekend. Best iron I have used. It really speeds up the process.
Well worth it.

I will take that in jest, but my circumstances dictate otherwise.

In hard water area it makes ironing so easy and unfortunately some of us need to turn up to work with non creased shirts...

Buy her Sybian to sit on while she's doing it - you'll never look back.

they are good, but some are pretty unreliable. We got through 3 of the Bosch ones within the 2 year warranty. The Bosch customer service was excellent, but not one of the irons lasted langer than 10 months.

I remember a few years back, when I lived at home, I asked my Mum if she wanted a new Iron for her Christmas (obviously method was ironing of the odd shirt prior to a night out!), as she was complaining that her current one was on it's way out. She replied, to me, a mechanical engineer, "what would you like me to get you for your Christmas, a big Spanner!!??".

I thought this was quite quick for my Mum! I nearly pissed myself laughing! Lol.

yep - other half swears by it

Tefal seem reliable...lasted 5 years until it fell off the ironing board and broke ...so she bought another

ive used it a few times when im home alone and it really does work wink

I brought one a few weeks ago, makes a big difference I found. Although does take up a fair amount of space, had to clear some space in the kitchen for it

Isn't it just easier to iron everything straight out of the washing machine and place it on hangers to dry?

I'm a mechanical engineer as well, a big spanner would be a lot more use than some of the crap I've been bought over the years...

and to answer the OP, yes they are worth it.
Just about to dive into another pile of ironing with my trusty Tefal Express....rolleyes
