Hi folks, just a quickie, I bought a towel rail timer/temp. control over the Internet.
Its CE marked but nothing else.
It's also supposedly IP55 rated but isn't marked as such.
Does this sound right?
Should there be any BS marks on the back?
Cheers,
Dave

That's a China Export mark, not a Conformance European mark.

The reason I ask is that to my untrained eye it looks a bit st (technical term) & I'm considering sending it back.

Under the Distance Selling Regulations you don't need any excuse to return it within seven days. I'd do so just because I hate the duplicity of the China Export mark being created to look so close to a CE mark.

To comply with IP 55, "Water projected by a nozzle (6.3mm) against enclosure from any direction shall have no harmful effects".

If that can withstand that, I'll show my arse in M&S window!
