Anyone have any recommendations/ideas for artists that produce mixed media pieces?
I'd like something (wall hang) that has texture and a relief/3d quality to it.

I like Nic Joly for example but his latest stuff is a bit too cheesy for my liking:

Have a look at Lhouette we have a lot of his work.

I have a Lhouette.

I almost bought another recently (show me something real), but decided I should get something different

No luck with mixed media stuff but bagged a few nice things (for me) at the affordable art fair in London just now.

Will send pics when I receive the pictures

Only a print, picked up at auction. Needs a bigger space.

This is the closest thread to putting these works by my brother up, so whilst not strictly ‘on my wall’ I’d have thought there would be some interest.

He works as a collaborative artist, completing paintings with others. As lockdown has disturbed what he’s doing, he’s been creating Japanese Notan canvasses and then forwarding them to other artists to add to, with some great results!

An unfinished canvas:

Acerone x Andy Council ‘Rrrr types’

Acerone x Akarat ‘Citizens of Rome 2020’

Acerone x Bex Glover ‘New Territories’
I posted about this last summer when it was just the beginning of a project, it took a few turns along the way and the results have now been published as a book.

The launch party is in Bristol this Saturday, where all the artwork will be on display. If anyone’s close enough to attend I can sort out invites!

https://www.collaborativepainting.uk/

And a few more:

Acerone X Jody ‘Breakout’

Acerone X Ziml ‘Purpose’

Acerone X Dibz ‘Cut ‘n’ Paste’

I have this Britto in the hallway of my man place. They made a few, but each is completely unique (and large it's about 2m long) and hand finished:

I get Britto isn't everyone's cup of tea, but wanted something that pops. Comes from L.A. though, so probably not easy to come by.

I also have these in the lounge there (obviously these are not unique), but touch of humour:

Yep cliché, but it's work relevant and it's the only place I can pick what I want on the walls.

I'm currently making a large a 2.5m x 2.5m wall / lighting piece, once finished will post up.

Got them from here:

They are not limited like much if the artwork here, but a bit of fun. I have a few more dotted around the place, the Campbells Soup Cans arranged up the stairs), they were from:

https://theskateroom.com/product/coloured-cambells...

I just mix that stuff in with a few 1 offs / limited pieces.

The second one has echoes of HR Giger actually. Well, ok, barely. But a hint.

Thanks Duncan!

The latter is actually inspired by Felix Semper's sculptures, which look normal but are made from paper and can be stretched, really, really cool: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mRs8pE3vtuI&ab...

Definitely a bit surreal for the second. It's a self-portrait and it's meant to be a representation of her learning to comfort herself in the absence of someone else, or something like that. A typical image of someone being comforted would be them having their head held to someone else's breast - so here she's showing the difficulty/impossibilty of doing that for yourself. I think, anyway. She's got a whole series of them but that one was my favourite.

Some lovely art on this thread. Here's two of mine

The Ace Cafe - A406 North Circular

No great worth attached to this one. It's a one off pen & ink I bought direct from the artist for £15 (bargain), but has a lot of value to me as I'm into my bikes, and grew up about 200 metres from the Ace.

And an original full size poster from the British Empire Exhibition held at Wembley in 1925 by Frida Beard
