Nothing wrong with looking online. There are plenty of large chain galleries to view and if you see anything you like then you’ll be able to find one local to you where you’ll be able to see your potential purchase in the flesh. It’s

Pop art type stuff - https://hookedgallery.com/

Some artists (once you know what you like) have their own websites, although you'll often get a better deal at a gallery, like https://www.castlefineart.com/

As said, often isn't a substitute for finding what you want - but may help you narrow your search a little.

Thanks.
I think you've hung it very well; perfect for the setting.
The wonky lintel in the picture hung in what's evidently an old (and wonky?) house is a brave move. wink

Mate of mine owns https://inkanddrop.com/pages/shop-our-instagram

You'll have seen their stuff if you like the Maxi interior design style I mentioned on the previous page.

Mark Johnston is the perennial favourite up our way. Doesn't work for me, but is hugely popular. Contemporary landscape stuff: https://www.johnstonarts.co.uk/work/. You can burn through £10k quite easy with him!

This portrait is at once graphic and dimensional, a distillation of color and form that allows the viewer to focus on the figure's gaze. rofl

I use Pinterest quite a lot for the ideas. Doesn't necessarily help with finding the bits for sale, of course, but helps with searching for things I might like. And then you go down the rabbit holes of 'someone else has liked your boards, what have they got?', blah blah blah.

The main galleries on most high streets are Castle galleries or Whitewall or one of their other names under the Demonfort fine art umbrella ( not Castle), then you’ve got local Indy galleries, a lot will publish local artists plus a few better known.

Westover gallery on the south coast has a lot of artists under them.

The thing with main galleries if you like a piece from their web site and are interested they’ll get it to your local one to view if it’s an original, I've had this a couple of times with Whitewall although their sales consultants at times can be a bit pushy, commission based I guess hence why they phone to say they’ve got an amazing piece that you’ll like in, but there’s lots of interest in it.

Buy what grabs you not because it’s by an artist or is a piece that’s popular.

Inam paints woodland scenes, all very much the same view but different shades/colours.

I bought a series of graffitied Argentinian bank notes from when they were going through hyper inflation way back when.

I liked the idea of a 3d effect so I used a deep frame, then mounted the note on a block which was in turn mounted on to a traditional back board. So the banknote stood proud/floated in the frame behind the glass.

More interesting than a simple framing. Might work on something at A5 size ??

ETA: If you're into the Maxi aesthetic, an alternative might be to paint the wall a dark colour and use it as the back board then fix a frame directly to the wall around the piece? Would work well if the pages are white??? Something like this (works well with ornate picture frames):

A new abstract for my wall. Tricky to photograph as it’s opposite a window so there is too much reflection.

Ha, no sadly not mine!

Very much my taste (I've previously linked to my office on a couple of threads on here).

If you like the look, here's some shops:

https://turtledust.bigcartel.com/products
https://www.rockettstgeorge.co.uk/
https://www.audenza.com/
https://jimmiemartin.com/ (I stretched to a cushion and made my own busts rather than pay £2k! for an original)
https://thrillsoftheemporium.co.uk/
https://luxeology.co.uk/

Or employ an interior designer and you'll save a good proportion of their fee through shop discounts and them knowing how to do things cheaply:

Recently finished the living room in a dark blue, so needed something brighter to offset it. Found a really nice Lawrence Coulson landscape print to go with the Simon Kennys

Thanks. It was free smile

My son is the artist. We have many more from the series. He makes his own media, inks etc.

In his day job he works on bronze and other metals for the likes of Damien Hirst and Grayson Perry. He worked on the Paul Oz life size bronze of Senna that was displayed at Silverstone for the British Grand Prix.
