Art on your walls...
Discussion
I haven't posted for a while but here are some new-ish additions...
There's always a lighthouse...
This is an original by an artist up in Reading. Well, I say original, but I rather suspect she churns them out.
Limited edition prints (limited to 35 and 30 respectively) that I bought in an art pop-up shop in Basingstoke and I framed them myself with cheap frames from The Range. Each print was £35 which I thought was reasonable.
And seen in situ below a picture I bought from Genesis Art at White Lion Antiques near Hartley Wintney. The pic doesn't really do it justice as it is embellished and 3D and sparkly.
So here are a couple more pics of it ...
Original art bought at the Maltings market at Farnham
And this is one I bought today, again from Genesis Art
edit:
Oh, and some more old ones.

Hi Cupcake
What’s the picture with MM on it on the first picture please?
It's just some pic I got at one of the Maltings Monthly Markets at Farnham a few years ago. What’s the picture with MM on it on the first picture please?
It looks like the artist printed the pics of Marilyn Monroe onto canvas with a printer and then embellished it with a load of paint and stuff. I'm afraid I don't have any provenance for it.
It's quite tactile, with the paint being extremely thick and then embossed, and also some corrugated cardboard, and some hessian cloth, and the like. It's quite unusual. I didn't pay a huge amount for it - something like £40 maybe?
Here's a pic of the whole thing:

i really like that. decent purchase. My son is the artist. We have many more from the series. He makes his own media, inks etc.
In his day job he works on bronze and other metals for the likes of Damien Hirst and Grayson Perry. He worked on the Paul Oz life size bronze of Senna that was displayed at Silverstone for the British Grand Prix.
wow, what an interesting job. does he sell his own stuff? a link if so please.

Recently finished the living room in a dark blue, so needed something brighter to offset it. Found a really nice Lawrence Coulson landscape print to go with the Simon Kennys
Lovely room. It all just works. I wouldn't have the ability to choose every individual colour for paint & furniture to know whether that would work. If ever I get the colours right in a room its because I've copied someone else's idea.Edited by Ace-T on Monday 4th October 20:25

He did some performance art at Tate Modern, and may have an exhibition coming at Central St Martin’s.
Some of his work is here (edited to add several links to a range of his work)

Are you saying 'sad' as in 'Scrooge McDuck jumping into his money bin' sad
No sad in a genuine way. I guess they’ve changed from not expensive fun into how certain collectible cars have - in order to insure them I’d need to make so many changes to my house, and then pay the premium etc. I went away a few weeks ago and tagged myself on the foreign beach on FB and kicked myself worrying as people knew I wasn’t at my house for a week. Or I could put them in storage - but then I’m paying AND not seeing them. In the end it was best to let them go to a new home. I really like this kid's portraits. There is vibrancy about them which is really appealing.

They are good for a 14 year old. I was painting similar at that age. Then went to Art College and you soon find out that they prefer rotten pieces of wood nailed to the floor. Which probably explains why i'm now a designer.https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-58897610
I've just hung this abstract canvas, wasn't sure exactly where to place it on the wall, my options seem to be placing it central to the sofa, or central to the room wall, I chose the latter and lined it up with the top of the door frame, it looks fine to me but wondered if I did it the best way?
