Tado arrived, can't set it up because I can't load the thermostat manufacturer list on the web setup process, it just hangs trying to load the drop down.
Tried all 3 browsers too. What a piece of st.
I'm losing the will to live. Finally got the site working, only to be told engineers have to check my system which will take another 48 hours.Tried all 3 browsers too. What a piece of st.
I have 3 wires to the wired thermostat, all numbered. I have a controller, but all that needs to be done is for the heating to be turned to "always on".
Sigh.
Do you have the instructions for your boiler? That should give you some clues. As far as I can tell most of the tailored instructions is aimed at numpties with no electrical knowledge, fundamentally you just need to know that your control box is the right one for the switch voltage at your boiler.
I originally ended up with a 12V one, which was very obviously going to explode as soon as I tried to connect the 240V loop from my boiler. Tado were very good about sorting out what was my fk up.
Once you've sorted that out, you need to make sure that both the Tado and the boiler have +240V, Earth and Neutral from your power source connected, doesn't really matter how you achieve this.
Then you need to connect the switch circuit to the controller, which would normally be two wires, but you should be able to work it out from your boiler instructions.

I've a 230v plate which as NO, NC and COM, which corresponds to the 3 wire wiring on my existing thermostat for normally open, normally close and the switch. The head has batteries, so all I need to do is plug the three control wires in, however it seems pointless until they've checked their systems as the website won't let me control anything until they do.
I wonder if the app will work better
Just to finish this off, as it will come up in google. I emailed support and they replied with the instructions almost instantly.
Thermostat:
Wired in the Honeywell:
1) Live (red)
2) Neutral (blue)
3) Switch (yellow)
TADO wired:
COM - live (red)
NO - Switch (yellow)
Neutral (blue) not used. Park in a parking terminal.
Now I just have to wait for them to activate my account!

What is the extension box? I need one apparently (My upgrade is due shortly), but I'm not sure why?
I assumed the new thermostat replaced the temperature sensor and that was it. The extension box doesn't sound like it's the box I currently have fixed to the boiler?
Is the box you have fixed to the boiler the same? If so, can I leave it in place and return the new one to save me some hassle and to make it easier for them to resell it?

Mine arrived today. I tried going through the setup pages but when I tried to input my Honeywell wireless thermostat / wired receiver and separate wired controller for the hot water, 'Computer said No'.
Gave them a call and they asked me to email some pictures across, which I've done, so am awaiting further instructions.

Just been on the phone to them for about 30 minutes. They've a few software bugs in the system (and training issues, it was the blokes first v2 setup), but I am finally setup and working on manual mode, so at least I can heat the house. Smart mode is offlineGave them a call and they asked me to email some pictures across, which I've done, so am awaiting further instructions.
They've just emailed me and told me that I need the extension module as well. Presumably this is to control the hot water, which I was intending to control via the existing hard wired controls.
Have asked them why I need it, so will see what happens.
Gah - thought that this would be easy to set up

Call them. They told me that too initially, seems to be a bit of confusion with the new kit. See my post above, hopefully yours will be the same.Have asked them why I need it, so will see what happens.

My controller is set to "always on" for the heating and I'm still using the timer for the hot water. The TADO just replaced the basic thermostat.

I think this is what I want. So it just replaced the thermostat with no other boxes attached to wiring of boiler/heater?My controller is set to "always on" for the heating and I'm still using the timer for the hot water. The TADO just replaced the basic thermostat.

Glad you're making progress though!
