3.5 months of prelims, overheads & profit on the contractor's EOT claim and the cost of remedial works related to waterproofing the adjoining owner's demise, which was £1.5m of works, including ripping out and re-instating works to our client's demise that had already been done but where the waterproofing detail wasn't to the adjoining owners's satisfaction
Mind officially boggled. What's the size of the job if you don't mind me asking? Surely a job like this involves QS, project managers etc etc that wouldn't dream of not having a PWA in place, it's such a minuscule cost in the scheme of things. I was called to a £4mil ish Victorian terraced town house a few years back. The neighbouring property was being refurbed by a developer. No PW Notices served. Cracks had appeared in the property. Went to the site next door to see all of the internal structure removed. Five floors gone along with all roof ties and struts too.
The property on the otherside was also damaged extensively.
Unfortunately, an increase in wealth does not come with pro rata increase in knowledge.
