There has been a lot of nice houses in this thread. I don't know why, but i love old english houses a lot. They are so exciting.

Me and my wife just purchased our first house. It is traditional finnish house, made from thick wood. It doesn't have any other insulation, just 8 inch (or so) of wood but it is enough for our cold winter. Outside minus 30 celsius and inside is +22c



Property is 1,6 hectare and it is next to the lake. I'm happy

Yes, that is one of the reasons. Every finnish house has a ladders to the roof.

It sure is! It was actually the first one we looked at...followed by about another 25! We felt it was too expensive for what it was and eventually went back with a low offer and ultimately met in the middle. Suits us perfectly and Mrs Mandy managed to get a space for her horse at the yard in Seafield. We can see him from the back garden!

Yours looks lovely! Outbuildings would be nice but a garage will do for now! :-)
