There's some lovely stuff round near me. It's all (comparatively) cheap because it's all compromised in some way.

For example, I really could see myself living here: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/prope...

Even though:
- fake old
- on the access road to the aforementioned Beaumont Hall (recall Arab place before the Arab place above)
- no views at all
- although it looks like a village road nearby, it's actually quite busy
- it's at the bottom of a public right of way through to Loughborough, used by countless cyclists and dog walkers.

But, still, for the price...

If I had the price, I'd give it *serious* thought for those interiors, even with its fakery and all...

It's ok but I'm surprised how small the rooms are, bit of an Anti-Tardis. Sitting room and dining room are too small/narrow, there's no study and the garage is too small.

It's also pretty close to Milton Keynes....
So;

It's close to Milton Keynes which is a great city if you enjoy getting out in the fresh air, it also has one of the best shopping centres in the Uk.

Also within a mile of junction 14 of the M1 so London, Heathrow, Birmingham, Nottingham are all an hour away.

For that price, I contend its a hell of a house for the money but accept it's not for all.
And all those 60mph city roads, terrible isn't it.

It's also the weirdest place in the UK. Do they still have the topless barbers?

No the locals asked him to put a shirt on, his hairy back was scaring the children.

Doesn't appear to look of much from the outside. However, unsure of the green, I really like what they've done with the inside and rear garden:

Yes please. That's the most realistic property I've seen on here that I would want to own.
Same!
Thats the first big house on this thread that looks homely too.

It's ok though, estate agents are clever, us stupid general public don't notice such things...

A bit like when they take a front picture and cleverly crop out the sewage treatment works/gypsy site/bomb factory next door, because people don't notice when they go to view either.

I like the look of this one near me. Has character, non-estate location, double garage, nice grounds:

I love this part of Dorset and don't need anything too big. For the price of a 60s 3 bed detached where I live now I could get this:

35 mins on London Midland and less on a Virgin direct.

Strangely I looked on my usual National Rail timetable and couldn't see anything quicker than 39 mins but that may be me not looking properly biggrin

Check out the 6:59 which takes 35 min. There's 5 minutes of slack for the trains terminating at Euston. If you look at the trains London to MK you will see that they take 30 minutes.
