This has been around for some time. They have it appear in as many TV shows as possible. The trouble is that it is on the wrong side of the Water for people who it would appeal to with enough money to actually buy it.Amyway, I love it. Reminds me of the place they feature in Gotham.

Real estate taxes in the USA are frightening.
IIRC mortgage payments are tax deductible though, is that right?Bitter, yes. My property taxes are 3.5% of the assessed value of the property each year.
I still remember when this was up for £100m. Reads a tad desperate. Developer in a pickle or some kind of scam I can't quite wrap my head around?

That's one huge 'studio flat' http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/prope...
It could be legit. It was priced £100m to start with, then reduced to 65. It was on the market for several years so could be that the developer is just taking the loss and wants rid. He's worth half a billion though so you'd think he could/would wait for a reasonable offer. All speculation though. Interestingly Glentree don't seem to be marketing it any more.

I think the issue is the plot has been chopped with houses at the back with the access road at the side. No way I would accept that at that price. I would want all the houses demolished and the garden restated. The garden is now too small for the house.
Same prob for the unsellable house in TW1 by the river is St Margaret's.
I'm sure we've had this place before? I've not been reading the thread for long..

Looking around the local area on Satellite shows up some ridiculous houses, am off on the bike to have a ride around..

Lovely on the outside, a bit bland on the inside.
Just looks a bit cheaply furnished, and in the wrong style. Lovely on the outside, a bit bland on the inside.

It's the craggy island style exteriors that put me off a lot of houses in Ireland and NI. So much grey!Blown2CV said:

Yeah, for some reason the grey finish is popular over here, I suppose it could be painted though, still think it's a lot of house for the money compared with some of the prices you see on the threadJonnny said:

I can't help thinking the got the market wrong. This is a London house in the country. Anyone buying the country lifestyle will want something more classical / restrained for the interior, I'd have thought. However, they know their buyers better than me.
I've shot on the Windlesham Estate before. It's a remarkable place - only a hop skip and jump from the M25 but proper, beautiful countryside. I hope they haven't ruined the environment.

Stunning it is. I stayed there for a week or so when attending a wedding onsite a few years back. AstonZagato said:

To be fair, I've just cycled past it.. It seems set down slightly from the road, and lots of trees around it.. You wouldn't notice it if the marble gates/driveway wasn't there.I can't help thinking the got the market wrong. This is a London house in the country. The interior is very typical of those sort of house being built in the area; Windlesham, Wentworth etc. I can't help thinking the got the market wrong. This is a London house in the country. Looks like it's got a good plot there; some are very poorly sized for the sqft of house.
