Saying that I recently stayed on a friends boat on the Paddington Arm near Portobello Road, the water is disgusting, full of crap floating in it and questionable things being discharged into it. Not as nice as the water if you take a trip down the Kennet and Avon.
Mainly caused by 'none boaty people' emptying brown stuff into the cut with no regard for the damage caused - is happening all around London's canal system. They should be shot in the face with a poo-gun!

23k sqft is one of the top 26 largest houses in the US? Random fact to display but also surprising. I would have thought that was fairly modest considering the size of 'normal' houses out there and plot sizes.
Nobody makes a list of the top 26 anything.

What they've done, is to emphasise that it comes bottom in a contrived list that they created!
also, how do they know that there are only 10 private tunnels... do you have to register them or something? i may have one for all they know.

it does look lovely though, most american mega mansions are just grim, that one is very nicely done and hides it's size well.

This recently completed, featured on George Clarke's Amazing Places when it was half done last year.

Lots of trades owed lots of money.

Turns out it was Restoration Man and not Amazing Spaces.

The revisit was on Sunday. Not watched it myself yet.

One half of the main Cheverells House in Herts - £2.5m - http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/prope...

Why post a semi-detached historic house? Because the other half is for sale as well for £1.5m - http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/prope...

Not often that sort of coincidence comes up. One on the 6th May, the other the 16th May, thought it was worth it for that. There is another part to it but you could buy that later to make it complete again wink

It seems like a missed opportunity not to list them both with the same agent...

I wonder even if they offered the other halves to the others first. Or even speak to one another, ever.

Judging by the ranty press and large swathes of the internet, the list of people that need to be shot in the face with a poo-gun isn't going to be one of life's shorter lists is it?

I've said it before but I always like houses with a central courtyard (castle/manor style) this one is even part moated.

The Clock Tower, Old Hunstanton, Norfolk £1,750,000 - http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/prope...

The coachman's cottage next to it can be part of the deal too, I would probably relocate/remove that.

Its a bit no mans land that bit of stepney, would rather be nearer spitalfields etc, or nearer victoria park.

Hmm I think I would not mind this spot, spitalfields and VP get so busy nowadays. Service charge is a lot really but I bet it would be lowered down. My current building quite near here and we managed to decrease SC in the last few years by getting rid of dodgy management.

It doesn't say anything about parking though? hehe

All those small tiles would give me a migraine. Would have to rip them off and replace with larger, clean, ones.

Also, is that a storage heater in the main living room? Didn't know anyone still used those!

I also like courtyards, but you still need hallways. The bedrooms just wouldn't work in the middle of winter unless you were all very friendly.

Never noticed that, I didn't look at the plan. I'd probably put a glass outside corridor along that side for bedroom access to all.

Something like this. Perhaps with a roof to match the style of the rest of the house.

You had me at "Inglenook":

This isn't that pretty on the outside, and the inside isn't to my taste either, but the view is quite something, and the location is right. How much for a knock down and re-build?:

Nice house, but I always think a 20th century house with thatched roof looks a bit inconsistent; the interior looks like it's from a different era to the exterior.

knock those through and re-organise rooms - and reckon that would be my dream house

I also own the same Pure Evil print as the first one has mounted, comparison ends there unfortunately
