Amazingly, they managed to completely avoid all of the traditional colour schemes of period property.

My eyes hurt after seeing the neon kitchen chairs with matching splash backs.
Tough crowd in here today!

hehe
I really like that. I can even afford (a bit of) it!

I can see this across the valley on one of my walks. Needs an interior designer to give it some soul but reckon it's worth a few bob. I'd be happy with the run down white house..

No doubt not to everyone's tastes, but I'd move into that tomorrow and pretty much keep it exactly like that. Best on here in a while IMHO.

28,000 square feet!

It's basically a modern day castle.

I don't think "Architect-designed" flat-roofed houses are supposed to have soul. They are supposed to be noisy and impractical

Looks more like a fancy hotel, than a home.

Cannot argue with the views but what a crushingly characterless place to live.

I didn't know David Brent has gone into the house design business.

I bet the fire officer would be delighted to see the location of that wood burner.
Who the hell signed that off?

You could always move the curtain wink

This faces it from across the Valley, not quite a castle but they could have done with one up at Canons Ashby during the civil war.

Sold for 16m in the end.

Glad it's not just me, the "main" property doesn't really have any redeeming features other than the view but the little white cottage looks lovely.

I was at Castle Ashby House yesterday, by coincidence. Worth a visit.

Its quite small in comparison but its worth trying to get on one of the tours as its the history/storys behind things that makes it worth the trip. Some nice pubs around to, Red Lion, The Crown Inn or The Royal Oak.

Indeed. I read the guide book in the church cover to cover. Fascinating stuff, and untouched for centuries.

Have we had Aylesby Hall from my neck of the woods yet?

Relatively tasteful, 12 acres, walled garden, tennis court. Looks a lovely place.

The agent appears to have misplaced the kitchen photos and accidentally uploaded something a child let loose with the Magnet design computer produced.

Other than that, love it.

Very nice, but as expensive as that kitchen undoubtedly is, it jars with the rest of the property IMO.

I wonder how much effort it took to almost, but not quite, match the veneers across the from of those kitchen cabinets.
