Robin MacDonald bought it for £1.7m and spent £1 million renovating it. In February 2015 the property was offered for sale with Sotheby's for £3 million but did not sell.

How often do you need to re thatch a house like that and the next obvious question, how do you prevent a fire destroying the place. Would an ember from a garden fire set the place alight?
