Wall adhesive tape - Advert on TV - Anyone remember the name
Discussion
FYI I've used these a ton and they are very good. For smaller framed items they are great, and I've used them on both new and old paint with no marks once you pull them off properly.
Don't trust them with big items though. It's not really just the weight that dictates whether they will hold - if you've got a (very) big (but light) picture with a long hanging wire, the leverage due to the picture size as it pivots against the wall can have quite a lot of force and will ease the glue off. I know from experience of finding a huge hanging on the floor one day...
Still, I recommend them especially after the not so good experience of repainting an entire hallway due to plastic hooks.

Thanks .
Nice to see that someone has used them and they appear to be good, friend has a photo (canvas type thing) she wants up and its just easier than drilling into the wall.
Shes tempted to put a mirror up with it, not too sure on the weight, but is it best to try something else (ie drill and screws etc).

For the mirror use the tape and some blobs of 'no nails/ gripfill' or other type of product . The tape will hold it long enough for the adhesive to cure and then it's job jobbed. You will need to chisel the mirror off when the time comes to remove it though
I would use a water based "no nails" type gun glue .Don't use a spirit based one like "gripfil" as ,although it will hold , it can eat through the mirror silvering on the back .Gassing Station | Homes, Gardens and DIY | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
