whilst I agree it is ridiculous, almost all tradesmen I know or have been in contact with use a Henry or similar.after some googling Henry's are mostly 1200w, so safe at the moment...
Whether you can have a vacuum that is as effective at 900w with a cleverer (read Dyson esque expensive and troublesome) is debatable.
Still, always plenty of those things at the tip, but they were 'efficient'
