I concur. Took the 8 months to sort out my final bill when I switched. Utter utter wastes of spaceEDF are good, well, what i've experienced. I've never put their customer service to the test.
Duel fuel paid by DD every month and I submit meter readings when I want.
The only hiccup was that it was a huge £95 a month at the start, then because my account eventually hit £300 in credit after a few months they reduced the DD to £10, which has now drained the account credit. It seems to have stabled itself now at £40 a month.

Think the general theme here is to avoid the "big 6" especially Npower who are having huge IT problems at the moment. I moved supplier and they took SIX months to get me a final bill out. They then insisted on payment within 6 days. I feel sorry for their call staff having to deal with customers, it cant be a nice place to work at the moment.

Actually the general theme is that the big6 are so big, when they want to make changes to their systems, it is very difficult for them to do so without seriously impacting their customer service levels.
Over the last few years this has happened to each of the big companies. Just so happens its SPs turn. I'm sure like all the other companies they will get it right, but like the others, it will take time.

FWIW I have no problems with them either.
I'm with EDF and have to say that other than experiencing one numpty customer service advisor a while back, they've been pretty spot-on. Can even photo readings and submit as well as number-entry.
My only gripe - and it's minor - is that I would like them to leave my DD static; they sometimes vary it by just a few pounds based on usage when the reality is my overall annual usage has remained the same over the previous 10 years or so. I know almost to within a tenner what I'll use over a year.

Unlike NPower that I was in credit with, then that mysteriously turned into a debit and so the £300 I got turned into me owning them £40, despite the fact I had just had the metres read by them 2 months earlier and only went into debit when I wanted to close the account and move.
They said it was a slight error on their system.

I also got a transcript of the conversation emailed to me so that should I ever need to refer back, I have evidence of what was said and done at the time. If you're with EDF, give it a go.

Surprised you actually got as far as phone dealings. 45 minutes it took me to get through and I had to phone them 3 times. I varied my calls at different times of day and each time it was 45 mins to get through. Complete and utter bunch of 24karat asswipes
When my fixed deal ended I took another out online. They didn't bother to apply it...twice, and on the third call I was on the verge of switching if it wasn't sorted. They did this time.
I think switching just has an effect for a limited period as most energy companies seem to have same standards of crap standards eventually.

So I thought I would give it a go.
They're called 'Flow Energy...'
I took out a deal called 'The Thames Fixed Online' tariff for both my gas and electricity. Basically, I gave them my meter readings, and my last year's usage, and they calculated a fixed monthly direct debit price based on that. This price was about £350 cheaper than what I was already paying with Utility Warehouse.
I asked them what happened if my gas and electricity usage went up, and they said that it wouldn't be an issue unless I 'took the piss.' It's a sort of a fair usage thing. If it fluctuates up a bit, then I win, if it fluctuates down a bit, then they win. As it happens, with this year being so mild, they've possibly won
But anyway, it's good because I have a fixed monthly DD so I can budget for the year. Never had any issues last year, so I've just signed up for another year. Happy Days I think is the phrase

I get on well with EDF, unless I have to actually speak to them
Pretty sure our old account is still open at our previous address despite recorded written proof that I asked them to close our account and forward the final bill to my mums. 10 months later and a few phone calls, nothing. Sod em, when they realise in a few months/years I'll show them the correspondence!
Price is good, we got the fixed until 2017 dualfuel deal, at the flat we were on a crappy pay as you go thing, just on account rather than the key/card. I looked at switching but tbh the price per unit was the lowest, and they seemed pretty relaxed about me paying each quarter off over 3 months (scraped the payment in every time before their system spat me out a letter)
