I'm looking for some help here. I am planning an extension and want to have a flat roof skylight installed. Something similar to this:
http://www.expressbifolds.co.uk/products/xp-sky-vi...

Thing is, for the size I'm after 1200x2500mm it's 3K plus VAT.

Has anyone fitted this type of light/window and can they recommend a product.

Thanks

Tresco

Cant't help you much but I'm also looking for a couple - 3000mm x 1500mm, my quotes so far are similar to yours.

Try these people - http://www.atlasroofsolutions.co.uk/ I've not dealt with them but a couple of the door manufacturers I'm talking to use them.

If you just want a flat piece of glass, surely the easy option is to build your own kerb detail - hardly rocket science, and place a flat piece of laminated glass above - any glass supplier would know the required spec

You can oversize the top piece of glass to form a drip detail or stick an alloy section to it.

Several suppliers simply fit glass into a T section of aluminium and silicon it in - which is a bodge IMO.

Currently have 2 on order from here - http://www.visionrooflights.co.uk/ to be installed in January, along with a set of bi-folds, not sure who the original supplier is for the roof lights, although bi-folds are made by Origin.

We came across them at the national renovating show at Olympia, out of all the companies, liked both products so easier to tie up RAL colours and installation to help push the build along.

There are many ways to glaze a flat roof area, Lanterns are nice, we usually buy the Victorian glazing bars and make our own.

Works out a tenth of the cost.

I originally was going to go with a lantern but I was told they wouldn't meet the air tightness test on a new build.

I'm unsure why as presumably they only leak as much as windows.
