As you have already built it... you could look into how long you can delay action - I think around 2yrs.
You delay replying to letters etc and apply for planning.
When you don't get it, you appeal etc.
There is a small cost to apply but the Appeal is free.

So the car won't fit in the garage - there's a simple solution to this:
You turn the living room and dining room into a through lounge.
Turn the through lounge into a garage by installing a large up over door.
Then convert the garage into a living room.
All the neighbours are kept happy, the council is kept happy - and you only have the wife to contend with (!)

It does sit in front of my garage
so if i replace this with a gazeebo or garage tent do you think i will be able to get rid of them ?
What a load of crap. That looks bloody awful. Is that wood even treated? I hope it isn't still standing when a gale comes, incase it collapses on your car. Then you'll really regret this folly. Have you not even considered your neighbours? How would you feel if they dumped a smelly caravan on their drive and you had to look at it every day?so if i replace this with a gazeebo or garage tent do you think i will be able to get rid of them ?
Also, what benefit do you think that is providing for the car, really? It won't keep it away from the wind or cold, it won't keep it dry.
Although it's not particularly pleasing to the eye I really don't see what the problem is , it is after all situated on the OP's property and the council and his neighbours should mind their own business.
As already pointed out , the OP could quite legally park a dilapidated caravan or a 70's motor home resto-project on his drive which would be much more of an eye sore so a car port is relatively inoffensive.

Council dog. Check!
Security lights, that probably annoy the neighbours too. Check!
Those type of people don't consider anyone.

Op appears to be one of "them".
Look at me, I don't care about anybody but me. Look at me, I do everything my way and you should bow before me. Look at me, I don't care about your opinion.
A sudden slap to the ego caused by crossing the line of taste, decency and respect of his fellow citizens has come as a shock it seems.
