Cole,s are almost the RollsRoyce of wallpapers. Your paying for the name and exclusiveness of the pattern. At the end of the day if you want mass produced stuff I.e. Cheap go to B&Q etc

Yep, agreed they are good quality - but a beige stripe is a beige stripe. Whether it's on vellum or paper isn't important to me - but the sheds don't do what I want.

I was recommended to look at www.wallpaperdirect.com - very good; I oredered several samples which arrived promptly - and I think £65 a roll it will have to be. Oh well!

^^ That site is part of the Brewers chain, larger branches have a section with the sample books so would save you waiting on the post.

Take wallpaper sample to B&Q. Have them match the colour of the stripe, purchase paint, purchase masking tape. Paint stripes.
That was actually forming in the back of my mind! The wall is already painted the lighter of the two colours - but masking tape if pressed too hard will pull the it off, and if not hard enough, the darker paint will seep underneath.

But an aerosol... hmm....
Use Green 'frogtape', it's the perfect product. I used it when decorating our kitchen and it gave 1st class results with no paint bleed and no damage when peeling the tape off.

^^ wouldn't yellow Frog Tape (Or equivalent Tessa low tack) be more suitable than green as would be going on pretty fresh paint?

Not sure TBH, all I can say is that the green tape worked just fine on my newly painted walls. I seem to recall I left the paint about a week to harden before using the tape on it.
