Light Switch wiring question
Discussion
Hi folks,
Need an answer for what I hope is a simple question.
I have a room that is lit by GU10 spots.
I plan to replace the current halogen bulbs with dimmable LED GU10s and want to wire in an LED dimmer switch.
Here is my question:- There are 2 switches that operate the spots in this room. One is a single gang switch that controls only the lights for this room, and the other is part of a 2 gang switch that controls the lights for this room and another room.
Do I need to swap out both switches for LED dimmer switches or can I just replace the single gang switch and leave the other 2 gang switch alone. I get that I won't be able to dim from the standard 2 gang switch but that does not bother me as long as the other 1 gang LED dimmer switch works. Will this work or do I also need to wire in an LED dimmer switch for the second switch that controls the lights for this room?
Cheers
