About to relocate for a new job - where are the nicest villages around Northants to start looking at on rightmove?

Thatched cottage, village pub that sort of thing - also where parking isn't a nightmare!

Where is the new job based and what sort of commute time are you looking for?

Do you want a village or would a small town be acceptable?

The area around Stoke Bruerne is nice IIRC.

Lots of nice places in Northamptonshire to be honest. There's a reason there's lots of Stately Homes there.

Either if the small town was nice. Commuting into Northampton, prepared to go max 30 mins. Would also be nice to be reasonably close to the M1.

In that case, take a look @ Olney. Stony Stratford is another possibility.

I like Stoney - used to play in some folk stuff there.

It's also handy to have MK close for the amenities.

Market Harborough?

I can recommend Olney smile

Also look at Hackleton, Horton, Chapel Brampton, Ecton, Harrold, Bozeat.

Depends on your budget. Compared to 'central' Northampton and Milton Keynes, these places are not cheap.

Harborough is very nice if you wanted somewhere with shops, bars and food, if that doesn't bother you the villages down the old A50 (A5199 now) are very nice - welford, spratton, creaton and the bramptons.

Either of the Brampton's. Or hanging Houghton if you can find a property for sale!

Lived in both. Olney is a more pleasant place but Stony is very nice (and convenient for MK).

I live in East Hunsbury now, which is nice enough but is essentially just a massive housing estate and so doesn't compare to Olney or Stony.

Drove through Boughton yesterday, absolutely stunning village with some of the nicest houses I've seen - lovely looking pub there too...

Guilsborough is a lovely village to live in, but good luck trying to find somewhere.

I'd recommend Towcester and or it's surrounding villages. We moved there about 5 years ago now and love it.

Lovely little village and if you're working for Barclaycard you'll be commuting against the flow of traffic.

yeswavey

Towcester is our nearest Waitrose which is all any true PH'er is worried about.

75%of the villages are great just all the towns are awful with the exception of market harborough which is lovely. Some great villages up by the Rutland border.
