Did anyone get residence 9 windows? Iv has 1/2 of mine installed and all of them have damage on and the quality is awful.

When we had ours installed, if there was any minor damage, they went round with one of these https://konig-uk.co.uk/repair-kits/614206-window-d... and melted the plastic into the scuff. Done well, you can't see where it was damaged now. Ours are English oak, so light brown.

I had my Residence 7 windows delivered last Thursday and promptly returned to the factory on Friday. Luckily the independent fitter I had booked in to install them on Friday had a damn good look over them before he ripped out the old windows. The foiling wasn't up to standard and there were issues with the welded joints being very untidy. I understand that the welding is down to the place of manufacture for the windows but the foiling I presume is a direct result of the people who manufacture the profile for Residence.

Maybe I should have gone with mechanical joints but at a 100% increase in price I decided against it. I'm at home now awaiting delivery of the "better" ones...

Here are a couple of photos of ours.

Must be about at least 5 faults per window.
They’re doing around Wednesday to “fix” it but the price of the windows they’d best be perfect

Why would anyone let them be fixed (especialy with wax rofl) ?

What's so hard about providing undamaged windows ?

Whats the frame price? sounds like they are firmly into Ali price territory- which makes you wonder why you don't just put in Ali....?

Why did they completely ignore the contour and cut it randomly ?

God knows. They try to fob me off saying they are hand made. Iv just taken 161 photos of the damage on 9 windows.

That's pretty shocking.

We were going to be ordering some residence 7 soon, but after this you've given me second thoughts. I must admit as I'm not particularly familiar with things like this I could probably be easily fobbed off by someone. Some of those damages are pretty obvious, but it's minor things that I would question and not really know if I was being given a straight answer or not.

Not sure what to do for the best now!

Well, that's me definitely unsold on these laugh

Think I'll stick to looking at Ali or Alu-clad timber (til I see a thread somewhere with some similarly terrible pics of those)

For a bit of balance I got residence 9 from a supplier up in Cheshire and they were faultless so I guess it depends on who builds the windows rather than the company that make the extrusions.

Any chance you could give me the suppliers name?
